To begin with, I would like to express my wholehearted gratefulness to His Excellency the President of the Republic of Indonesia, Mr. Joko Widodo, who has spent his precious time writing his Forewords for the book entitled ‘Retired but not Expired’. It is worth noting that the book has a special chapter that clearly describes a personal relationship that I have had with Mr. Jokowi since I met him the very first when he was assuming the position of the Mayor of Solo City.
Time goes very fast. Then in 2021, I realized that I had been retired for 16 years since 2005. I wrote this book to merely share my activities and also to exchange my various experiences during those 16 years of my retirement. Many friends and close mates of mine asked me about how I adapted myself when entering the retirement period.
